B. The Library Classification System
Books are arranged on the shelves according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC 23) which groups the fields of knowledge into 10 main classes, namely:
C. Arrangement of Books
Non-Fiction books are arranged in the shelves from left to right, top to bottom, according to the following:
- numerically according to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) number
- by author / title number
- alphabetically by title, if books have same class and author number
Fiction books (Novels particularly in pocketbooks) have no class numbers but they bear the location symbol FC. They are alphabetically arranged on the shelves by author numbers.

The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)
The Library Online Public Access Catalog is a set of bibliographic records that represent the holdings of a particular collection. This is used for the purpose of finding books and helping users in choosing the right sources of information available in the library.
The Library System adapted is Destiny Library Manager. Destiny brings all your library automation together on one server: circulation, cataloging, searching, and reporting. It is completely browser-based — providing access to your library from virtually anywhere as shown below:

C. Filipiniana Collection
This section is located on the third floor of the library building. It houses books written by Filipino authors or by foreign authors about the Philippines.
D. Newspapers/ Journals/ Newspapers
Periodicals serve as the source of the most recent printed information for current events, leisure reading, societal issues and scholarly research. It is the policy of the Library to order most of its periodical subscriptions through a subscription agency.
G. Check-In and Check-Out Counter
Books for check-in and check-out should be brought here. A valid identification card is required for the release of books for home-use.
H. Reserve Section Counter
Reserve books assigned by faculty members for collateral/primary references of all courses offered during the current semester are separated and kept in this section for exclusive display for easy access and retrieval.
I. Electronic and Internet Services
Internet accesses via networked computers are provided in the fourth floor of the library building or wireless connection (WIFI) is available for students and staff. Internet access via networked computers or wireless is free and no password is required. However, to access library online databases and electronic resources such as e-books, authorization is required. All users accessing the databases via wireless will be prompted to login. Your Student ID number is your password.
J. General Circulation Collection
The General Circulation Section is the biggest section of the library located at the fourth floor of the library building. It houses the majority of the books in the library. It keeps books in all subject areas which do not fall under Reference or Filipiniana.
K. General References Collection
These are encyclopaedias, dictionaries, atlases, handbook, yearbooks, etc. for quick- reference purposes.
I. Fiction
Novels and easy reading materials or works of fiction are provided for light reading purposes.
J. CURRENT AWARENESS SERVICE
- New acquisitions lists are sent to the different colleges or offices to inform the availability of materials;
- List of new books are posted on the Bulletin Board
K. Library Instructional Service (LIS)
- Library Instruction (LI) program provides the means for students to become proficient in utilizing library and its resources efficiently.
- General library orientation for all freshmen is regularly conducted at the start of the school year.
The Library Instruction program aims to:
- inform students of new library services
- familiarize students with the location of resources in the library
- teach basic library research/information literacy skills
- coordinate and enhance classroom assignments through point-of-use instruction
L. Technical Services
Technical Services are the behind-the-scenes activities that a library undertakes to process library materials loaned for the library users. These activities include ordering, classifying and cataloging, preparing materials for the library shelves, inventory, and weeding.
